Nine-year-old Yvon is a cheerful and quiet boy, waiting for a loving and secure adoptive family!
Yvon enjoys playing games with friends and caregivers. Some of his favorite activities include playing with toy cars, arts and crafts, bike riding, drawing and playing basketball. He loves superheroes!
His caregivers say he is generally calm and is not easily frustrated. Yvon is well-behaved, for example, he follows simple directions and abides by the rules, shows respect to his caregivers and understands right from wrong. Since he began receiving additional attention and support, Yvon has begun to build a more positive self-image and feel more confident.
Yvon needs an adoptive family who can provide the encouragement and support he needs to build trust and self-confidence. The ideal adoptive family for Yvon will have at least one female caregiver, have access to resources in English and Spanish and be knowledgeable about (or willing to learn) Trust-Based Relational Intervention parenting methods. Yvon's family should also be patient and predictable, with clearly defined rules and boundaries, to help him thrive.
