What is the Parent Adoptee Discovery Club (PADC)?
Holt’s Parent Adoptee Discovery Club is an online interactive, safe and guided experience for adoptees ages 13-17 and their parent(s) or guardians. Here, they can talk about the hard issues of adoption like birth family, grief/loss or racism.
It’s our goal to increase open, healthy communication within our families by teaching common language around these topics while providing a safe space to practice.
PADC is held twice a year, in the fall and in the spring. Our next session is Saturday, September 30.
Topics Covered in PADC include:
- How to talk about and engage in safe, meaningful discussions about adoption within your family
- Adoptee identity and adoption concepts
- Grief and loss
- Race/Microaggressions and fostering racial identity
