Waiting child Blake sitting on steps

Blake needs a permanent, adoptive family! Could you or someone you know be the right family for Blake?

Blake is a smiling, communicative and smart girl, she gets along well with her peers and is developmentally on-target. She enjoys hanging out with friends, listening to music, sports and watching movies. Blake has many artistic talents, which complement her rich imagination!

Because of a period of time where Blake did not attend school, Blake is working hard to catch up in a few subjects like math and spelling. Blake is currently in eighth grade, and she has shown herself to be diligent and very willing to learn. She has good attention and concentration in school.

She also loves to be active! Blake likes to bicycle, jump rope and play catch.

Blake has good perceptions of herself and others, and she is comfortable with herself and the environment where she lives and studies. Her caregivers describe her as a radiant and smiley girl with emotional stability and resistance. Blake is patient and approachable, and in situation of conflict she seeks out compromise without demonstrating aggressive behavior. Her caregivers also say she can easily adapt towards the environment around her and build strong relationships with peers and adults. Blake is smiling, cheerful and inquisitive. She is easily attached and shows respect to the people she cares about.

The child communicates well with the staff and other children where she lives. She shows good manners and communication when meeting new people. She has a respectful attitude towards elders.

An ideal adoptive family for Blake will understand developmental trauma and neglect, older child adoption and be supportive regarding grief/loss and education. The family needs to understand and parent using TBRI®, connection before correction and understand the push-pull of connecting with teenagers.
