During playtime, Arturo enjoys arts and crafts like painting, playing tops and marbles with other children, watching television and riding his bike. With his foster family, he likes to attend parties, share special family meals, go to the park and go to the circus! Arturo dreams of becoming a police officer someday.
Arturo is diagnosed with mild cognitive disorder and developmental delays. He attends occupational and speech therapy, where he is making good progress. His therapist noted that he is especially talented at mathematics. Arturo needs an adoptive family who is prepared to provide long-term comprehensive therapies.
Arturo needs an adoptive family with access to excellent educational, occupational and speech therapies. His family should also have knowledge of, or be willing to learn about, older child adoption and trust-based relational parenting (TBRI) methods. The ideal family for Arturo will have a predictable routine, be patient, nurturing and able to encourage Arturo to reach his full potential. He has a positive attitude about adoption and is looking forward to the love and care of a permanent family.
