Hi, I'm Ngoc Truong Phuc
I'm a boy, 3 years old and live in Vietnam.
Phuc lives with his parents and older brother in a low-income family. They cannot afford boarding school, so he attends classes in the mornings and stays home in the afternoons. His father is a farmer who relies on seasonal labor to cultivate acacia trees. His mother works as a field helper but infrequently, as she cares for Phuc when he's home from school. The family relies on both parents' fluctuating incomes, struggling to meet Phuc's basic nutritional and educational needs. Fortunately, local authorities have selected Phuc for daycare support through the Holt Vietnam program, enabling his parents to send him to school all day and allowing his mother to work full-time, boosting the family's income.
