Hi, I'm Duc Dat
I'm a boy, 6 years old and live in Vietnam.
Dat comes from a low-income household. His father was recently diagnosed with lymphoma, rendering him unable to work. This illness limits his financial contribution to the family. Previously a daily laborer, he now stays home to manage chores and care for the children. The financial burden falls on Dat’s mother, whose income varies from jobs like picking peanuts, complicating their ability to meet expenses. She typically works 20 days a month, with the rest spent aiding her husband in Ho Chi Minh City for medical treatment. This situation strains the children’s education, but she has received financial aid from the FPR program to start a chicken farming business, supporting her family and allowing Dat to continue school.
