Hi, I'm Long
I'm a boy, 13 years old and live in Vietnam.
Nguyen Duy Long is the eldest of two children in a multigenerational single-parent family living near the poverty line. He resides with his paternal grandparents, mother, and younger sister after his father’s death in a 2018 traffic accident. His grandfather has severe mental illness and receives a $27.50 disability subsidy. His grandparents are retired farmers. His mother works at a Bac Ninh garment factory and visits monthly, bringing snacks and gifts for the children, but doesn't provide money for food or tuition. In addition to cooking, the grandmother raises fish in a man-made pond for profit, having borrowed $2,917 for its construction and still owes the debt.
