Hi, I'm Bien
I'm a boy, 6 years old and live in Vietnam.
Bui Van Bien, the youngest of three, lives with his parents and two older siblings. His mother is the main breadwinner, working at the DHA garment factory for $250 a month. His father makes a living through manual rice farming. He spends most time with Bien during educational interventions and acupuncture at the Central Acupuncture Hospital for children with autism. A one-hour class costs $5, and an acupuncture session is $11 after a 50% discount for those with government health insurance. Bien needs these sessions regularly. Next year, when Bien turns 6, his insurance won't cover costs, leaving his parents deeply worried.
