Kieu Bao Minh’s family is one of households with life difficulties in Doi Binh commune, Ung Hoa district, Hanoi, Vietnam. There are 6 members in his family, five of them have some health problems. His grandfather’s legs are hurtful because of Gout and must take medicine daily. His grandmother takes regular medicine due to mental issues. His father has severe mental disbility, is locked in house and lives on government support of $27 a month for disabled person. His mother was described as a dull and slow woman, dropping out from school at grade 6. His older sister, Kieu Bao Tram, suffers from anemia and occasionally faints. His grandfather and mother earn the family a living. His grandfather works as a security guard with main responsibility is to take after scooters parking in front of the shop; he has the salary of $160 a month. His mother gets piece pay from making cheap jewelry at a local workshop, her estimated income is about $120 a month.
