Hi, I'm Tinh
I'm a girl, 12 years old and live in Vietnam.
Tinh's family is one of near-poor households in their local community. The family currently consists of the parents and four children. Tinh's mother suffers from colitis and spinal degeneration, preventing her from working, and she remains at home as a housewife. Tinh's youngest brother has meningitis, keeping him from attending school.Tinh's father works as a day laborer in the fields, earning an unstable income of approximately $14 daily. However, his work is irregular, with only 10-15 days of work per month. While the family owns 5,000 square meters of cashew land, the income from the harvest is modest and often offset by expenses for labor, fertilizers, and pesticides. With such a low and unstable income, Tinh's parents struggle to support the family and ensure Tinh's continued education. Recognizing the family's challenges, local authorities referred Tinh to Holt's scholarship program.
