Hi, I'm Nhat
I'm a boy, 11 years old and live in Vietnam.
Nhat's family is a near-poor household in the area. There are six people in the family, including the parents and four children. Nhat's father has epilepsy and needs daily medication. Nhat's mother is the sole breadwinner in the family. She mostly cultivates rice on her mother-in-law's fields to make a living. If it had a bad harvest, her capital would be lost. Besides, Nhat's mother works for hire with different manual jobs, but the job is not regular. Currently, Nhat's family owes the bank nearly 1250 USD, which used to buy a calf for livestock to improve family economic condition. Unfortunately, the calf died not long after. Now they have to pay 6 USD in interest each month for the bank. With such a low income and debt, the mother could not afford to meet the family's needs as well as the child's schooling expenses, so the local authorities recently referred this case to Holt Vietnam for support.
