Hi, I'm Bang
I'm a girl, 13 years old and live in Vietnam.
Bang’s family does not afford her school fees. To prevent the child from dropping out of school, local authority referred this case to Holt for support.
Bang was seven years old and in normal health upon admission.
Bang’s father left her mother when she was pregnant with the child. Her mother then got married to another man and left Bang for her maternal grandmother since then. The child lives with her grandmother, uncle, aunt, and a cousin. Bang’s grandmother breaks cashew shell for hire but the job demand is not stable and her wage is low, 88 USD/month. Bang’s uncle and aunt just earn enough to provide for their nuclear family. The girl’s mother also has financial difficulties of her own family, so she rarely sends money home to help raise her daughter.
