Hi, I'm Chetra
I'm a boy, 4 years old and live in Cambodia.
Chetra was enrolled in the community preschool by his parents. His age was right for schooling and his parents believed that going to school could help him prepare well for grade 1. Chetra lives with his parents, grandparents, and a sister. His birth father got divorced from his mother three years ago, and he never supported the child in anything. His mother remarried, and she has a daughter. His mother and stepfather work in Phnom Penh; his mother is a garment worker and earns 204$, and his father is a motorcycle taxi driver and earns 15$ a day. His grandparents are farmers; they grow rice and raise some animals. His sister is 1 year old. This family has sufficient food to eat and is better financially, but their children lack proper education because the public school is far from home. That is why they would like Chetra to study at a community preschool nearby, which is supported by Holt-International.
