Hi, I'm Socheata
I'm a girl, 4 years old and live in Cambodia.
Socheata was enrolled in the community preschool by his parents. His age was right for schooling and his parents believed that going to school could help him prepare well for grade 1. Socheata lives with her parents, two older brothers, an aunt, and an uncle. Her parents and uncle work in Kompong Som province. Her father and uncle are construction worker, and earns 15$ a day each. Her mother works in the factory, and earns 250$ a month. Her parents usually visit home. Her aunt sells Khmer cakes at home, and earns 12$ a day, but it is not regular. Her brothers are students. This family has sufficient food to eat and is better financially, but their children lack proper education because the public school is far from home. That is why they would like Socheata to study at a community preschool nearby, which is supported by Holt-International.
