Hi, I'm Kimleng
I'm a girl, 4 years old and live in Cambodia.
Kimleng was enrolled in the community preschool by her grandparents. Kimleng lives with her mother, grandparents, an uncle, and a cousin. She has an older brother. Her parents got divorced a year ago, and her brother lives with her father. Her mother remarried, and her mother and stepfather work in Phnom Penh; her mother works in the factory and earns $250 plus overtime, and her stepfather is a security guard and earns $250. They usually visit home and send money to support the family. Her uncle dropped out of school, and he stays at home. Her cousin is studying in 1st grade at primary school. Her grandparents are farmers; they grow rice and raise some animals to gain more incomes. This family has sufficient food to eat and is better financially, but their children lack proper education because the public school is far from home. That is why they would like Kimleng to study at a community preschool nearby, which is supported by Holt-International.
