Hi, I'm Khateya
I'm a girl, 3 years old and live in Cambodia.
Khateya was enrolled in the community preschool by her parents. Her age was right for schooling and her parents believed that going to school could help her prepare well for grade 1. This family lives in their own house and has land for growing rice. Khateya lives with her parents and a younger brother. Her father is taxi driver, and earns from 2.5$ to 25$ a day; it is not regular. Her mother is a garment worker, and earns 204$ a month. Her brother is 5 months old. This family has sufficient food to eat and is better financially, but their children lack proper education because the public school is far from home. That is why they would like Khateya to study at a community preschool nearby, which is supported by Holt-International.
