Thirteen-year-old Poppy needs an adoptive family! She is a silly and playful girl who loves to meet new people and spend time with friends.
Poppy’s caregivers say that Poppy is outgoing, confident and a leader among her friends. They get along well. She loves to show affection and tries to keep the peace when her friends argue.
Some of Poppy’s favorite activities are drawing, painting and dancing. She loves water and the beach and dreams of visiting the ocean again one day.
Poppy understands the idea of adoption and wants to have a loving, permanent family (and maybe a pet dog or cat, too!).
Poppy is diagnosed with thalassemia and receives monthly blood transfusions. The best family for Poppy will have access to excellent medical, educational and ESL resources. Poppy needs an adoptive family with a strong understanding of (or willingness to learn about) institutionalization, older child adoption and trust-based relational intervention (TBRI) parenting methods.
