Children in Holt’s child sponsorship program love to thank their sponsors in the U.S. with letters and drawings. Here’s a letter and drawing from 8-year-old Robert in Uganda.

Robert is an 8-year-old boy who lives in Uganda with his mother and two siblings. He is a good helper in his family and contributes by fetching water, washing utensils for meals, sweeping the ground, washing clothes and caring for the family’s grazing animals. His mother earns a living as a farmer, which covers some of the family’s needs, but education and health care costs are often too much. Because of sponsorship, Robert can stay healthy and pursue his dreams.

Sponsors have supported Robert’s education by providing teaching materials for his instructors, learning materials, his school uniform and nutritious snacks for his school day. His best subject in school is math, but he enjoys drawing and coloring most. He is a social boy and gets along well with his classmates, teachers and those in his community.

Robert’s sponsors have also provided wellness care, ensuring he stays healthy and receives routine checkups. He is a playful boy and enjoys kicking around a soccer ball and watching sports.
