As a way to say thank you and to share with you how COVID-19 is affecting children in the programs you support through Holt International, we are launching a new video series featuring interviews with Holt’s in-country program directors around the world.
Our first interview is with Lydia Nyesigomwe, country representative for Holt Uganda!
In this video, Lydia shares:
- How the pandemic is affecting children and families in Uganda
- How your donations are helping to meet the most urgent needs of children
- How children are learning even with schools closed
- How with your support, her team is helping families prepare for the coming months
She also shares some good news, including a story about a girl named Aisha who received a special gift from her sponsor that completely changed the lives of her family — and is now helping them weather this global crisis.
Over the coming weeks, we will share interviews with directors in every country where sponsors and donors support children. Although we can’t travel to visit our programs and bring you stories about your impact around the world right now, we hope these videos bring you comfort and reassurance that all children in Holt programs are safe and well — and that our in-country teams are as committed as you are to ensuring children and families have everything they need to stay strong and stable during this unstable and uncertain time.
We hope and pray that you and your family are also staying safe and well. And we are deeply grateful for your heartfelt giving to children, always — but especially now. As Lydia says, “Being committed to continue giving even in these hard times, it shows us the love [you] have for the children.”
