Hi, I'm Beyene
I'm a boy, 16 years old and live in Ethiopia.
Beyene is a partially deaf child and his mother wanted him join to the deaf school. There is no access to special needs education where the child is residing and there is limited awareness about deafness. In addition to that, his family is in a difficult position to address his basic and educational needs due to their poor economic status. Beyene is a partial deaf child. He lives with his parents in a family of 10 members. He has 3 brothers and 4 sisters. He is the 4th child and his sister, Fanaye, is also deaf. When Beyene was 5 months old, he had a very bad ear infection and after taking medication, he recovered but lost his hearing ability gradually. His family strongly believes that education creates an opportunity for a better future in their child’s life. Beyene joined Yesus Mena school for the deaf in the last academic year.
