Refund Policy

If You Need to Request a Refund

Thank you for your donation and support of children and families through Holt International. We understand that circumstances may change that require you to request a refund of your donation. While it is not always possible for donations to be refunded, please see our donation refund policy below and reach out to us so we can assist you.

Donation Refund Policy

Refunds are only granted in exceptional circumstances, within 30 days of the donation date, and are returned using the original payment method. A request for a refund can be completed in writing or by phone (see below).

Some circumstances in which funds might be granted include:

  • The donation was made in error or the amount was incorrect.
  • The donor did not authorize the donation.
  • The donor’s circumstances have changed materially. For instance, if the donation was made from sale proceeds that were later canceled or refunded.

Holt offers activities, events and services that may have separate refund policies. These additional refund policies will be communicated when a participant engages in said activities, events or services.

Recurring Donation Refunds

Donors have the option to give recurring or one-time donations. Holt will refund donations that occurred 30 days before the refund request. See the donation refund policy above.

Charitable Tax Status

If the donor has filed a tax return claiming a charitable deduction for the refunded gift, it is the donor’s responsibility to seek professional tax advice if their tax return needs to be amended. Holt is unable to offer tax advice.

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund of your donation made directly to Holt International, please complete the contact form. To request by phone, call 1-888-355-4658. To request a refund by email, email [email protected] with the subject line “Request a refund” and the following information:

  • Full name
  • Email address you used when donating
  • Phone number
  • Date on which the donation was made
  • Details about your donation, such as payment method and donation amount
  • Reason you are requesting a refund
  • Any other relevant information

Upon receipt of the refund request, Holt will review and respond to you within two business days. If your request is accepted, we will process the refund as soon as possible. It may take up to 30 days for the refund to show up in your account, based on the original method of payment.
