Holt Now Recruiting Families for Children from Vietnam!

On September 16, 2014, Vietnam’s Central Adoption Authority granted Holt International a license to facilitate international adoption for children with special needs, children older than 5 years old and children who are part of singling groups — effectively ending a 6-year moratorium on adoption from Vietnam to the U.S. Holt is now recruiting families to participate in this pilot adoption program. For more information about adopting from Vietnam, please contact Jessica Palmer at jessicap@holtinternational.org.

Volunteer at Winter Jam East in 2015!

Once again, Holt is partnering with Winter Jam on their 2015 East Coast tour kicking off January 2 in Charleston, WV! This 10-band Christian concert tour is one of Holt’s biggest opportunities to find and reach new child sponsors — people with a heart for the children Holt serves who make a monthly commitment of $30 to support one child in need. We are now recruiting volunteers to help sign up sponsors during the 2015 East Coast concerts! All volunteers receive free admission to the show, and at the end of the night, they leave feeling warm in the knowledge they helped children in need. Eligibility Expands for Families Hoping to Adopt from Korea!

Recently, Korea changed age requirements for adoptive parents — expanding eligibility for families hoping to adopt a child from Korea. While adoptive parents must still be between the ages of 25-45 at the beginning of the adoption process, the Korean government may now grant age waivers to parents up to age 49 at the time of home study approval if both applicants are Korean-American, at least one applicant is a Korean adoptee or both applicants have previously adopted a child from Korea. Please spread the word about Korea’s decision to create more flexible age requirements! Contact your local branch office or Oregon Branch Social Worker Kathie Stocker at kathies@holtinternational.org for more information.
