Hi, I'm Nigatu
I'm a boy, 7 years old and live in Ethiopia.
The Kebele and the Wallana 1st Kale Heywet church selected the child and the child has been brought in to care by his family. Because the child’s family is not capable of addressing his educational needs due to their poor economic status and there is little access to free and quality preschool education in close proximity to where the child is residing. Thus, the child joined wallana KG and got enrolled in the sponsorship program to overcome the challenges that hinder him from pursuing his early childhood education.
Nigatu was sick of pneumonia for two weeks when he was a 6 months baby. So that he stayed in the hospital for a week for treatment. After that, he is a healthy child.
Nigatu is living with both parents with family size of 5 and he has 1 sister. His father is a farmer which is, subsistence farming in a small plot of land which is less fertile because the soil washed away by the flood where as his mother is a housewife. So that his parents are struggling to address the basic needs and educational materials needs of their children. Nonetheless, his family strongly believes that education creates an opportunity for a better future in their child’s life. Therefore, he joined Wallana School.
