Hi, I'm Mekides
I'm a girl, 11 years old and live in Ethiopia.
The Kebele and Wallana 1st Kale Heywet church selected the child and the child has been brought in to care by her family. Because the child’s family is not capable of addressing her educational needs due to their poor economic status and there is little access to free and quality preschool education in close proximity to where the child is residing. The child, thus joined wallana KG and got enrolled in the sponsorship program to overcome the challenges that hinder her from pursuing her early childhood education.
Mekides is a healthy child both mentally and physically. But, she has a history of malaria at the time of admission.
Mekides's family earns a living from subsistence farming. This makes it very difficult for the family to cover their daily living expenses and at the same time address Mekides’s educational material needs. Nonetheless, her family strongly believes that education creates an opportunity for a better future in their child’s life. Therefore, she joined Wallana School in the current academic year.
