Hi, I'm Thida
I'm a girl, 12 years old and live in Cambodia.
Thida was selected through the recommendation from her village chief. Because of the family's bad financial situation, the child does not get sufficient nutrition intake. She also lacks in proper education.
She looked physically and mentally fine at the time of enrollment into the program. She does not brush her teeth and dress well yet. She does not use soap whenever she baths. Her family has toilet to use.
Thida lives with her aunt’s family with 5 members such as an aunt, an uncle, and two brother cousins, and a sister cousin. Her parents got divorced 2 years ago. Her mother remarried. Her mother keeps her to live with her aunt; she is working in Thailand with her husband and always sends money to support her daughter USD 25 a month. Her aunt’s family is also poor; she is hired to cut the potato, and earn USD 5 per day. Her uncle stays at home. Her brother cousins are hired to remove the potato, and earn USD 5 a day in each, but it is not regular. Her sister cousin is a student in 7th grade at secondary school. The family lives in a difficult situation, lacking of foods, rice and money to support their children. Therefore, Thida needs sponsorship in order to support her education.
