Even during his time at Nike, Jane says Dr. Ha would scold professional athletes who had prioritized sports over education, and he is rumored to have lectured Tiger Woods for squandering the opportunity to earn a degree from Stanford. During his time as a professor, Dr. Ha often silently put students through school, sometimes even scouting foreign students who wished to study in the U.S., and helping to pay their tuition.
