The Education Support Program would not exist without the unwavering support of our sponsors. Sponsors play a vital role in strengthening and sustaining the program year after year. Their contributions help reduce school dropouts and ensure continuity in learning. By easing the financial burden on families, sponsors enable parents to focus on stability and well-being, thereby creating a more supportive home environment for a child’s education.
Over the years, education support has evolved beyond “assisting with schooling” to nurturing the child as a whole. Our basic literacy and library programs have had a meaningful impact on students — academic improvement as well as positive social and behavioral changes.
Programs like the library provide students with an opportunity to think broader, express their perspectives in a safe and non-judgmental space, and develop a love for reading. It is encouraging to see students with books in their hands — reading, exploring and imagining.
Recently, two siblings who were at risk of dropping out of school have been able to resume their education with BSSK’s financial support. In addition, healthcare assistance — especially during family crisis situations — has helped families cope with challenges that could otherwise disrupt a child’s education.
Perhaps most rewarding of all is seeing the smiles on our children’s faces — when they receive educational materials, access library resources, receive supportive guidance and have their small successes acknowledged.
These moments of inclusion and encouragement make a lasting difference in their lives.
