November is National Adoption Awareness Month! Learn about the content we have planned for this year, built around the theme of “adoption is a lifelong experience.”
This year, we will be featuring stories and content about the lifelong experience of adoption and why it’s so important to support adoptees and families throughout their lives. Adoptee professionals on Holt’s post-adoption services team will share about the importance of elevating adoptee voices and will also offer different perspectives and experiences from their own lives. Throughout the month, we’ll also feature short video interviews with adoptees of different backgrounds, share insights from Holt social workers, and feature stories about Holt’s work around the world to empower birth mothers to parent their children instead of relinquishing them for adoption.
We are excited to announce that a short documentary about international adoption — featuring interviews with Holt staff — will appear on PBS during National Adoption Awareness Month!
In November, we’re also excited to share about some of Holt’s unique adoption programs and services, including programs to help advocate for older children and children with special needs, our partnership with the Adoption Finance Coach to help make adoption affordable, and our little-known relative international adoption program that helps unite children overseas with family members in the U.S.
Last but not least, we are excited to announce that a short documentary about international adoption — featuring interviews with Holt staff — will appear on PBS during National Adoption Awareness Month! The documentary was produced by Empowered, hosted by actress Meg Ryan, and we will share the documentary across Holt’s communications channels in November.
