Children in Holt’s child sponsorship program love to thank their sponsors in the U.S. with letters and drawings. Tamanna wanted to thank her sponsors with a photo of her recent school project.

When 13-year-old Tamanna finished her handmade school project, she knew exactly who she wanted to share it with — the sponsors who made her education possible.
Tamanna lives in India with her parents and two brothers. Her father works for a local school and her mother cares for the home. Despite their hard work, the family faces significant financial hardship. Without support from her sponsors, Tamanna would no longer be enrolled in school.
Tamanna is a bright and diligent student. She rarely needs assistance in the classroom, patiently works through challenges and scores high on her exams. Her teachers admire her focus and perseverance.
Some of her favorite hobbies are studying, reading and running. Her favorite book is “Sotu Geddavalu,” which is a story about a young woman who faces difficult circumstances with dignity.
Tamanna admires her parents very much and sees them as role models. At home, she helps with housework and tutors her brother in reading and writing. One of her favorite memories is visiting Bijapur with her family — a journey that took 15 hours by train.
Last year, on International Children’s Day, Tamanna celebrated her birthday alongside other sponsored children in Holt’s programs. During the festivities, Tamanna won first place for the vegetable-carving competition, which she is very proud of.
Tamanna is known for being kind and empathetic. She feels compassion for those facing hardship and likes to help others. Tamanna says she is very thankful to her sponsors for helping her go to school.
To share a heartfelt “thank you” for sending her to school, Tamanna shared this recent school project with her sponsors.
