You made such an incredible difference in 2021, and we can’t wait to see the amazing things you will do for children and families in 2022. Each of you plays a special part in Holt’s work and I feel inspired by your contributions to the lives of children and families around the world. As we look ahead to the exciting possibilities of 2022, I just wanted to take a moment to share a story from an adoptive family that reminds me why we do the work we do.
“When we went to Thailand in 2001 to meet our new 14-month-old daughter adopted through Holt and Holt Sahathai Foundation, we were told about the Holt sponsorship program. After we came home to the United States, we wanted to write a thank you note to our daughter’s sponsor….

I want to thank you for your part in making our dream. It was because of your support that Holt International and Holt Sahathai Foundation could provide our daughter with such a good start to her life. Your contributions have had a positive impact on our family. I am proud to say that I, too, am now a Holt sponsor for Thailand, knowing firsthand that my monthly donation will directly benefit Thai children and their families.
We figured if four people had each sponsored our daughter for 14 months, then we needed to match that with five years of sponsorship. Over twenty years later, we are still happily sponsoring a child!
After initially sponsoring several young children on the path of adoption, we asked if we could sponsor children who needed support to stay with their birth families. We have found this approach especially fulfilling, knowing that a few dollars a month from us helps keep a family together.”
