A thank you message to 2025 Holt child sponsors from our field director in Mongolia.
On behalf of Holt International’s Mongolia Office, I extend my sincere gratitude for your generous and continued support for Mongolia’s most vulnerable children. Thanks to your compassion, 6,658 children benefitted from short- and long-term assistance last year, receiving essential services delivered by our dedicated staff. Your support also enabled 13 families previously homeless or whose homes were destroyed by natural disasters to receive fully furnished traditional Mongolian gers. The joy these children experienced upon moving into safe homes was truly inspiring. In rural areas, your contributions helped improve the livelihoods of low-income herders families.
Through our livestock support initiative, three families received donations, including 117 sheep and goats, eight cattle, strengthening household income and creating more secure futures for their children. We also partnered with professional organizations to provide medical examinations, diagnostics and rehabilitation services to children with disabilities from remote, low-income families — an effort deeply appreciated by parents and caregivers.
Additionally, 2,958 children at risk of malnutrition were enrolled in nutritional monitoring and health check-ups, significantly improving their well-being. Because of you, hundreds of children across Mongolia now have food, clothing, school supplies and hope for a brighter future.
