Travel to Cambodia With Us in May!

Over the past 20 years, Holt sponsors and donors have made a tremendous impact in the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children in Cambodia — supplying the tools and resources families need to rise above poverty, and helping to revolutionize the child welfare system through model foster care, kinship care and family reunification programs. Today, Holt donors provide life-changing care and support for roughly 4,700 children and families through our programs.

This spring, we invite you to travel with us on a very special trip to Cambodia. On our tour, you’ll not only see the impact of your gifts, but you’ll also experience Holt’s vision for Cambodia and learn how you can create meaningful change in the lives of many more children and families in need.

Right now, programs in Cambodia are facing critical challenges with unexpected changes in funding. This tour will show you how important your support is to the children and families in Cambodia, and will equip you with the knowledge and materials to become an advocate for supporting them.

On the tour, you’ll also have the chance to experience the culture, taste the cuisine, and visit some of the many historic and ancient sites in Cambodia, including the Angkor Wat temples.

The Vision Trip is open to all those who are interested in learning more about Holt’s work and supporting Holt’s vision for Cambodia.

Tour participants will visit Holt’s family strengthening and education programs in several regions, and tour ancient and historic sites.

The tour will equip travelers with the knowledge and materials to become an advocate for supporting children and families in Cambodia.

What is the estimated cost for the trip?

$5,000 – $6,000 per person

The range in total cost represents the varying cost of air travel depending on the departure city, the type of hotel accommodation chosen by each team member, ground transportation in Cambodia, most meals and a non-refundable required deposit of $750 per person.

All details are subject to change. Due to fluctuating fuel costs, there may be an increase in the fuel surcharge that is charged to us by the airline. In that event, we reserve the right to increase our cost accordingly.

Who can go on the Cambodia Vision Trip?

What does a typical itinerary look like?

Here is an example of what a Cambodia itinerary may look like. Please note that the itinerary is subject to change.

May 3	Depart for Cambodia
May 4	Arrive in Phnom Penh and check in to your hotel
May 5	Take a city tour of Phnom Penh and visit the Killing Field and Toul Sleng Genocide Museum
May 6	Meet Holt Cambodia’s management team and receive an orientation of Holt’s programs in Phnom Penh. Visit children in Holt’s educational sponsorship program as well as students enrolled in Holt’s donor-funded university program.
May 7	Travel from Phnom Penh to Kampot. Visit preschools and family strengthening programs in Kampot, then travel back to Phnom Penh.
May 8	Check out of hotel in Phnom Penh. Travel to Battambang province and check in to hotel. Have dinner with Holt Cambodia’s management team and receive an orientation of Holt’s programs in the province.
May 9	Visit children and families in Holt programs in Battambang. Check out of hotel and travel to Siem Reap province in the evening. Check in to hotel in Siem Reap.
May 10	Visit the ancient Angkor Wat temple complex in Siem Reap. Enjoy a farewell dinner and traditional Khmer dance show.
May 11	Depart for the U.S.

What is the registration process?

Please complete the registration form and email Liana Stone at [email protected] to register before paying your non-refundable deposit of $750 per traveler. You will receive an email confirmation once you are added to the tour.

Once your registration is confirmed, the tour coordinator will email additional forms and information needed for your participation.

What is the travel process, including the airline?

Holt will book flights through our travel agent, AdTrav, once all participants are registered. You will need to provide Holt with the originating city you will be flying from, your passport number and the expiration date. (You may book your own flights if you prefer, but Holt will not be able to assist you should there be any delay or issues while flying.)

Visas are required for this trip. American citizens with valid U.S. Passports and a valid tourist visa (Type-T) may enter Cambodia for a period of 30 days (arrival day counts as day one). You can apply for a visa online at https://www.evisa.gov.kh/.
