Discover India with Holt in 2027!

For more than 45 years, Holt supporters have helped children and families in India create healthier, more hopeful futures through our long-standing partnerships with Bharatiya Samaj Seva Kendra (BSSK) in Pune and Vathsalya Charitable Trust (VCT) in Bangalore. Through your generosity, more than 40,000 children and families each year receive access to education, child development centers, nutritional support, skill training and vital social services for parents — especially single mothers.

Together with BSSK and VCT, Holt works to address both immediate needs and long-term stability. Programs focus on empowering women and girls through education and vocational training, supporting migrant families with nutritional support and ensuring children with disabilities receive the care, therapy and resources they need to thrive within their communities.

This January, we invite you to join Holt on a special journey to India. You’ll visit these life-changing programs in Pune and Bangalore, meet children and families whose lives are being transformed by your support and hear powerful firsthand stories of resilience and hope. Along the way, you’ll have opportunities to participate in activities with children and families, engage directly with communities and provide tangible support to those you meet.

Throughout the week, you’ll also immerse yourself in India’s vibrant culture — exploring local landmarks, savoring traditional cuisine and more. Each experience will deepen your understanding and appreciation of the communities you’re helping.

Holt’s 2027 India Vision Trip will take place January 16-24, 2027.

What is the estimated cost for the trip?

$5,000 – $6,000 per person

The range in total cost represents the varying cost of air travel depending on departure city and the type of hotel accommodation chosen by each participant. The total cost also includes ground transportation in India, most meals, visits to cultural sites and a non-refundable deposit of $1,000 per person. The deposit is due at the time of registration. The final payment deadline is January 8, 2027.

Is the India Vision Trip right for me?

Are you interested in supporting Holt’s work with children and families in India? If you answered, “Yes,” we would be honored to have you join us!

Vision trip participants typically include adult adoptees, adoptive parents and families, donors, passionate travelers and people curious about the world around them. Our common desire is to witness the positive impact of Holt’s work and learn about the needs that are still unmet.

Each vision trip includes a service project, an opportunity for participants to work together to complete a project that directly benefits the local children and families served by Holt.

Physical ability or health issues are NOT disqualifiers from joining a vision trip. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment that ensures all participants have a safe and enjoyable experience. Please contact the Vision Trip Coordinator with any questions.

What does a typical itinerary look like?

January 20	Visit a local school and meet children in Holt’s educational sponsorship program / Travel to Pune, India
January 21	Meet with BSSK staff for a welcome and orientation / Visit BSSK Childcare Centre for group activities with the children / Tour Aga Khan Palace and Mahatma Gandhi Museum
January 22	Visit the Deesha Community Centre for group activities with children involved in the basic literacy program / Attend home visits with three families receiving Holt-supported educational, medical and/or nutritional services
January 23	Tour Zapurza Museum of Art & Culture and Dagadusheth Halwai Ganapati Temple
January 24	Fly back to USA from Pune, India

Is this trip considered a philanthropic gift?

What is a service project?

Each vision trip includes at least one service project, funded by the $1,000 non-refundable deposit required for registration. Service projects vary based on location and need; physical ability is NOT a disqualifier from participating in service projects. Some examples of past service projects include:

Completing construction or outfitting of a home
Delivering livestock to families
Hosting Christmas celebrations for children in institutional care

What is the registration process?

Please complete the online registration form linked below to register before paying your non-refundable deposit of $1,000 per traveler. You will receive confirmation upon completion.

Once your registration is confirmed, the trip coordinator will email additional forms and information required for your participation.

One registration form and non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is required per traveler. The remainder of the trip costs and additional forms will be due prior to departure. Deposit and final payment can be paid by check or online via payment form.

What is the travel process, including the airline?

Flights can be booked through AdTrav, Holt’s travel agent, or you may also book your own flights (if interested in using miles or rewards). If you choose to book your own flights, you must provide Holt with the final itinerary for your flight path, including flight numbers, plus a copy or photo of the first page of your passport.

Visas are required for this trip. India requires an entry visa before you enter the country. You can obtain a tourist visa in advance via the official India eVisa website. The cost is less than $50 per participant. Your passport MUST be valid for 6 months after date of entry.
