a girl who is waiting to be adopted wears a pink sweater

Meet Haven! She needs an adoptive family. Could you or someone you know be the right fit for this artistic 11-year-old?

Haven is a kind and cheerful girl who is talented at drawing, coloring and skating. She enjoys outdoor activities, going to the movies, eating ice cream and playing dress up. Haven’s favorite foods include avocado, rice with chicken, fish, pizza and fruit. She loves to be around animals and handles them with care.

Due to bilateral hearing loss, Haven is learning sign language to help with communication. She attends a school for deaf children and is currently in third grade. Because she did not have appropriate educational services in the past, there are some gaps in her schooling. Since attending her new school, Haven has made significant progress. She is performing well academically and does not have any noted cognitive disabilities. At school, she gets along well with her teachers and peers.

An ideal family for Haven will have access to medical resources to address her hearing loss and cleft lip/palate surgery when needed. To help her thrive, a family should have experience with sign language and provide educational support for her hearing needs.

If you think you or someone you know could be the right family for Haven, please email our waiting child team at waitingchild@holtinternational.org!
