Children in Holt’s child sponsorship program love to thank their sponsors in the U.S. with letters and drawings. Here’s a sweet drawing from 7-year-old Phally in Cambodia.

Phally lives in Cambodia with her father, aunt and two sisters. Her aunt sells vegetables from their garden at the market while her father raises pigs, chickens and cows to provide for the family of five. Because the animals take time to grow before they can be sold, the family has little income during those waiting periods.
At times, Phally’s father had to take out loans just to buy essentials like food and school supplies. As the youngest child, Phally was at risk of leaving school because her family couldn’t afford the costs.
Then a sponsor signed up to support Phally — ensuring she could stay in school!
Phally loves her school materials, especially her notebooks, which she uses to take notes and draw pictures. She also loves her school uniform because she feels proud wearing it to class every day!
She enjoys swinging at the playground and walking through the school garden full of beautiful flowers and trees. Every afternoon when Phally gets home, she runs to her aunt to share about her day.
To share a big thank you for sending her to school, Phally created this heartfelt drawing for her sponsors!
