Holt’s annual heritage tour of China fosters deep connections with an adoptee’s heritage while honoring individual adoption journeys. Adoptees and their families have the opportunity to experience the culture, customs and history of China as presented by the local people. They are able to see everyday life in China, from big cities to rural villages, and participate in cultural activities. They visit a number of famous Chinese tourist sites, such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, the Terracotta Warriors and the mountains of Guilin. From local experts, they learn about adoption, orphanages and child welfare in China. Whenever possible, adoptees also have a chance to visit their former orphanage, foster family and/or sites significant to their adoption story and meet the people who touched their early lives.
The tour is open to all Chinese adoptees and adoptive families, whether or not their placing agency was Holt. Adoptees must be 9 years or older to participate in the tour.

China Heritage Tour Details
Travel Dates
June18, to June 29, 2026
Cost for Main Heritage Tour:
Adults (12 years and older) = $2,800
Children (under age 12) = 2,550 (Note: A child 12 or older is considered an adult.)
*Based on double occupancy, an additional $950 charge for a single room
Optional Pre-tour or Post-tour Orphanage/Province Tour (booked and priced/paid separately) includes a suggested minimum timeframe of two nights either before or after the Main Tour. This cost is not included in the main tour pricing.
All registrations will require a $500 per-person non-refundable deposit.
Refund policy:
Cost for the Main Tour is refundable (except for the deposit of $500) based on the following dates of cancellation:
100% refund before April 15, 2026
80% refund before April 30, 2026
50% refund before May 31, 2026
The Main Tour costs cover your lodging, in-country transportation, guided tours and most meals throughout the trip. International airfare is not included and will be the responsibility of each participant to book separately. Tour fees must be paid in full by April 1, 2026.

Registration Process
Please email china_tour@holtinternational.org with any questions about the registration process. All registration will be completed online, including the uploading of documents. After you register, you will be contacted with any additional information needed.
Required at Registration
One registration form and a non-refundable deposit of $500 per traveler will be required upon registration. The remainder of the trip cost is due by April 1, 2026 and can be paid online or by check.
Flights
International flights to China are the responsibility of each tour participant. Please contact us before booking so we can confirm arrival and departure cities/dates. After booking is completed, please email your full flight itinerary (airline, flight numbers, dates/times and departure city) to china_tour@holtinternational.org.
Arrival city: Beijing (Airport: Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK)
Arrival date: June 19, 2026 (in China), you will need to depart the USA on June 18, 2026, to arrive in China on June 19, 2026.
Departure date: June 29, 2026 (Main Tour)
Departure city: Will depend on the individual flight connections.
Entry Visas for U.S. Passport Holders
Visas are required for this trip. American citizens with a valid U.S. Passport and a valid tourist visa may enter China. Your U.S. passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of arrival in China. Holt will advise families on securing all visas.
*Note for Adoptee – If this is your first time traveling to China, you will need to submit your original Chinese passport as part of the visa application packet.
Deposit Fee and Final Payment
There is a required non-refundable deposit of $500 per traveler. This fee is included in the cost of the tour and should be paid at the time of registration. The remainder of the tour costs will be due before departure, and you will be invoiced for the final amount.

China Heritage Tour Registration
The traveler form consists of six pages and takes approximately five minutes per page. You may save this form and continue later. However, if you exit the traveler form, you will lose your data. Please gather the following documents for each traveler before completing the form:
- Passport
- List of medications (and reason for taking them)
- Emergency contact (name and phone number)
- Medical history
- Travel membership information
- Adoptee’s China Finding Certificate
- Adoptee’s China Abandonment Certificate
- One baby picture of the adoptee – please choose your favorite picture
