This sweet 14 month old is in need of a loving and attentive family! He smiles readily and loves to be carried by his favorite caretaker. This little boy has been in institutional care since shortly after birth. He was hospitalized from birth to October 2015 due to respiratory tract infection. In May 2016 he received an abdomen and pelvis sonogram that reported a storage liver disease- Glycogen Storage Disorder. He is currently receiving a specialized diet for treatment. A liver biopsy was preformed that indicated an enlarged liver but no evidence of chronic liver disease or cirrhosis. Sabastian is also diagnosed with partial hearing loss in his left ear and severe hearing loss in his right ear due to numerous infections. An ENT specialist reports that both ear drums are normal and is referred for a hearing aid trial along with speech and language therapy. He is also being monitored for hypospadias. Sabastian is small for his age but is otherwise noted to be a happy, content boy who enjoys exploring his environment or playing beside other children. He is reported to be developmentally delayed but responds well when talked to and says a few words like "baba" or "dada". His adoptive family with an approved home study should be open to the unknowns of his developmental potential, and have excellent access to excellent medical resources.
