Waiting Boys Need Families
Holt is currently finding families for boys of all ages from many of our programs. In fact, more than half of the referrals that the WCP is currently home finding are boys, most between the ages of 3 to 9 years old. One country from which the WCP is currently trying to find homes for a large number of boys is China. The China team is able to match many “waiting” children without needing to be referred to the Waiting Child Program for home finding. ID: BB10_456
DOB: 8/1/01
DOB: 8/1/01 and 3/3/02 These charming, intelligent young boys have been in care in Jilin, China since birth. They are currently living with a foster family, and though they are not biological brothers, they have grown up as brothers since infancy and should be placed together with the same family or with families in very close proximity to each other so that the boys can stay in close contact. They are very attached to their foster mother and are independent in their daily care needs. Upon admission they were both found to have bilateral cleft lip and palate, which have been repaired surgically. The older boy (on the left) reportedly enjoys singing, dancing, playing with lego-like toys, and learning new things. His teachers report that he does well in his classes and that he is an enthusiastic learner. The younger boy is described by his foster family as energetic and fairly extroverted. He most enjoys performing for others and also enjoys story telling. His teachers report that he is a polite, athletic boy who is a fast learner and curious of new things. Multiple members of the Holt staff have visited these boys, so many photos, videos, and additional personality information is available. These special boys are psychological brothers who need a family who can support their love for their foster mother while they are learning to love their forever family. Their family should provide them with access to a craniofacial team to follow up with speech therapy and further surgeries that they will most likely need. Their family should also have experience with adoption and parenting past their ages. http://holtinternational.org/blog/2011/01/need-a-good-laugh-meet-shen-ying-class-clown-and-this-weeks-waiting-child/
