This kind older boy is in need of a family before he turns 14 on February 1, 2011. He was found at approximately 3 days old with a limb difference. He is missing fingers on his left hand, but is otherwise noted to be healthy. In June 2000, he began living with his current foster family, comprised of two parents and two older sisters. He is independent in his needs, finishes homework on time, and gets along well with other children. He is near sighted in both eyes and wears glasses. He enjoys watching educational programs, playing tennis, and studying. He will begin the 8th grade in Fall 2010. He is shy and quiet with strangers. He has many friends, the longest of which he has had for six years. He gets sad when he gets a bad score on an exam or is falsely accused of misbehaving. His goal in life is to be a doctor. He would like to have an older brother in an adoptive family. This handsome, diligent boy needs a family experienced with older child adoption, open to him keeping in contact with his foster family, and understanding of the implications of grief and loss on behavior and academic functioning.
To adopt this child, applicants must be 30-54 years old and meet an income requirement of $30,000 plus $10,000 per additional family member, with $80,000 net worth. More than 4 children in the home may be accepted.* See country criteria for complete requirements. |
