Heritage Tours to Korea

Details for the 2011 Korea Heritage Tour are being finalized. The dates should be similar to those of the 2010 Tour (i.e., the last weeks of June and first week of July). TOUR HIGHLIGHTS: Tour participants experience Korea together as we visit national and historic sites and learn about Korea's rich cultural heritage. Our planned itinerary will include visits to the Korean Folk Village, the beach, and the DMZ. There may also be opportunities to attend a traditional music and dance performance, spend time with a Korean host family, and, of course, to try all kinds of delicious Korean food.

Tour events encompass many things significant to adoptees and adoptive families. We plan to visit Holt-Korea and Holt's Ilsan Center for the disabled, a children's home, and a maternity shelter. Adoptees will be able to review their adoption file and may be able to visit their birth city or orphanage (if applicable), meet their foster family, or (for adult adoptees) initiate a birth family search.
Note: This tour is open to all Korean adoptees and adoptive families, whether or not the placing agency was Holt.

DATES: The 2010 Heritage Tour will depart June 21, 2010, and return July 4, 2010. Dates are subject to change.

COST: The cost per person is $4,600. The cost is $3,700 for children 11 and under, if they share the same hotel room with their parents. Tour costs are based on double occupancy, and single rooms are available at an additional cost. If you are an adult adoptee traveling alone, we would be happy to pair you with another adult adoptee. The cost includes the international portion of your flight (from the West Coast gateway city), accommodations in Korea, most meals, admission fees to tour sites, professional guides, and tour ground transportation fees.

Due to fluctuating fuel costs, there may be an increase in the fuel surcharge that is charged to us by the airline, and in that event we reserve the right to increase our cost accordingly.
