We have seen a lot of positive changes in Bulgaria in the last 18 months. New, and more open-minded leaders came into power in the Ministry of Justice, the central authority responsible for inter-country adoptions in Bulgaria. They are striving to find loving families for their Bulgarian children, and if it is not possible through local adoption, then abroad.

There are over 2,600 children residing in government institutions: boys, girls and sibling groups. The majority of these children are 2 years and older. Health conditions vary from mild to moderate. Special needs children are available. Children come with a rich ethnic background: Bulgarian, Turkish, Armenian and others.

We estimate the waiting time from the date your dossier is registered with the Bulgarian authorities, to the date of child assignment is 12 months. Waiting time for boys is shorter.
