Special Needs Project
Meet Sebastian! During our 2024 Special Needs Project, he had a lot of fun with his friends coloring, playing ball, and hanging out with each other. His caregiver says that he is a smiley boy who is almost always in a good mood. Sebastian is also said to be a fun, cheerful, and quiet boy with a good sense of humor.
Sebastian prefers to play with younger children. When he is upset, he needs time to calm down and will sometimes cry. But after some time, he will tell his nanny why he is upset. His learning is delayed compared to peers, so he needs assistance when completing his homework.
Sebastian went on a recent field trip to the zoo. He had lots of fun on the adventure! He knows the names of the animals and was not afraid to get up close and touch them. Caregivers say he even touched a spider the zoo was allowing children to pet while he was there!
An ideal adoptive family for Sebastian should be open to unknowns, familiar with ADHD, and be flexible with educational support. The family needs to utilize TBRI strategies so to create an environment of felt safety for Sebastian to reach his potential.
