Kevin, Sheree & Mila
Our Story
We met in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood in 2011 and were married in April of 2014. Our marriage took place in Costa Rica on the beach with our family and closest friends. We live on the northside of Chicago in a great neighborhood with our adopted daughter, Mila and our 2 dogs, Buick and Coconut.
Our Journey
We struggled to start a family for quite some time. The door eventually closed for us to have biological children. It was a hard reality to face knowing that we couldn’t create a family “naturally” but our struggle has made us stronger people as individuals and as husband and wife.
Everything happens for a reason though and in February of 2020, we were blessed with the opportunity to adopt our baby girl Mila at only 5 days old! We always knew we wanted to be parents but we never knew how much love we had to give until Mila came into our life. We were born to be parents and Mila has helped to solidify that feeling.
We love being her parents and we can’t wait to grow our family even more because we have a lot more to give!
About Sheree
I grew up in a small farming community in Iowa but I have lived in Chicago for 16 years. I love that I live in a big city and can travel to where I grew up in less than 3 hours. I love visiting family and hanging out on the farm. I have two brothers and two step-brothers.
My little brother and I opened a Barbershop 8 years ago and now we have 3 shops altogether. It’s wonderful being in a business that is so artistic, fun and relaxed. I have the coolest employees who have become my work family and close friends. Not to mention the interesting clients I have met over the years.

Kevin’s Thoughts on Sheree
Sheree always puts others in front of herself. Her huge smile lights up any room she walks into and her bubbly personality makes her a joy to be with. She is a fair boss and her employees want to work hard for her. She has a lot of love to give and loves with all of her heart. Sheree is incredible with Mila. Motherhood has come naturally for her. I have learned so much from watching her and I love her even more because of it.
About Kevin
I grew up in upstate NY with my 2 older brothers. They both have children of their own and I wear my “Fun Uncle” badge with pride!
I became a pilot in 2005 and absolutely love my job. I have been lucky enough to go on many trips with Sheree and the rest of my family because of my job.

Sheree’s Thoughts on Kevin
I enjoy Kevin’s sense of humor, he makes me laugh every day. He’s motivated and provides for Mila and I. He’s genuine, trustworthy and an amazing Dad. He has developed a very special bond with Mila, I love watching him be a father. She is always giggling, dancing and saying Daddy. They adore each other, it makes me so happy!
Our Daughter, Mila
On February 9, 2020, the world became a much sweeter place. Mila has brought so much happiness to our lives and she has a lot more to give. She is always smiling and loves to laugh. We know in our hearts that she is going to be a fantastic older sister to a lucky sibling.
Mila’s favorite foods are bananas, pasta and sweet potatoes. She loves to go to the playground and the beach. Her favorite show is CocoMelon and she always dances to reggae music.
Our Home & Community
We live in on the northside of Chicago in a very family friendly neighborhood with lots of children on our street. Our gated, two bedroom condo sits on a busy, yet quiet street. It has two floors and two patios that we use to relax, eat and people watch. We hangout on the boulevard area with our neighbors and their kids playing all summer long.
Mila has become a regular at the local playground. There are a wide range of schools, libraries, and parks all within a short walk from our front door. It’s no wonder that so many people have chosen this neighborhood to raise their family.
Our Families
There’s nothing more important than family. We have been blessed with huge families that have shown us love and support throughout our whole life.
Sheree’s brother lives in Chicago but the rest of the family is spread throughout the U.S. We have regular visits from family to Chicago numerous times throughout the year. We also go visit everyone over the course of the year. We love our family very much and don’t like to go very long without seeing them. Our family is very excited for us to adopt again. They have shown nothing but immense love & affection towards Mila and they’re looking forward to sharing that love even more as we grow our family.
Pets
What can we say? Buick and Coconut are incredibly spoiled. They greet us at the door with wagging tails and unconditional love. Both dogs are excellent with Mila and are always gentle around everyone, especially young kids. The dogs will love and protect a little baby and play for hours.
Travel
Italy, France, Costa Rica, Kenya, Hawaii, Belize, Ireland, England, Mexico, Amsterdam, Colombia and we’re just getting started. Thanks to Kevin’s job, we have been lucky enough to travel around the world together. Travel is a huge part of our lives and we love to get immersed in new cultures. 2 trips a year to another country is our standard and we look forward to showing the world to our children.
