Andy and Rachel are waiting to welcome a child into their heart and home through open adoption.
Learn more about them!
Thank you for making the loving choice to pursue an adoption plan for your unborn child. We understand it may not have been part of your life’s plan, nor an easy decision to come to. We commend you for your strength and bravery in this process.
Our hope is that you begin to get a better picture of what our family life looks like. Our names are Andy and Rachel, and we have a son named Ben. Being parents has been our greatest joy in life and we always hoped to welcome one more child into our family. Our hearts and our home are open and ready to move forward on the adoption journey. All of the opportunities we have been able to offer our son, we hope to also be able to offer to a future child as well. Our son loves his younger cousins and is excited to one day be a big brother. We value our time as a family, as well as time spent with both Andy’s and Rachel’s sides of the family.
We look forward to the possibility of meeting you and taking the next step in this journey together. As you look to make plans for yourself and your child, we hope you follow your heart and find peace with whatever you decide. From what we have learned, open adoption is a very unique and individual arrangement that we are committed to working on with you to achieve a comfort level we can all live with while providing what is best for the baby.
Our Story & How We Met
Rachel’s sister and a mutual friend of ours set us up on a blind date in June, 2005. Over the next year-and-a-half we spent a lot of time eating out, seeing movies, playing tennis, enjoying various festivals and fairs and generally enjoying one another’s company. We were engaged another year-and-a-half before we married in June, 2008.

About Us
About Rachel
Rachel grew up in a family of 4, including her mom, dad and younger sister. She is very close to all of them (and talks to them on the phone almost every day)! It is from her family that she developed her love of playing games (especially card games), as well as her love of cooking and desire to carry on traditions within her own family, while also creating new ones.
Many years ago, Rachel was involved in leading youth groups at her church which led to her desire to work with teens and teach at the high school level. After teaching full-time for many years, then becoming a full-time stay-at-home mom, Rachel is currently employed part-time at a local high school as a math tutor. She hopes to be able to stay home with a future child as she did for her son.

In her spare time, Rachel enjoys cooking, doing crafts such as sewing and making homemade cards, as well as running and reading. She is also interested in healthy living by making “clean” choices when it comes to food, cleaning products, and medicines. Rachel enjoys entertaining and spending time with family and small groups of friends. A few other words that describe Rachel include quiet, caring, thoughtful, organized and attentive to detail.

About Andy
Andy also grew up in a family of 4, including his mom, dad and older sister. Having always enjoyed math and science (sharing similar interests with his father), pursuing a degree in electrical engineering seemed only fitting. This background brought him to a career as a software engineer for power and control systems.
Andy is interested in home automation and things others consider “high tech.” He is also pretty handy at fixing things around the house as well as building things. He enjoys watching movies, participating in Tae Kwon Do, and reading. Recently Andy has started to pick up woodworking as a new hobby. A few other words that describe Andy include quiet, level-headed, funny, smart, and hard-working.

Game: Scene It
Ice Cream Flavor: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
Movie: Empire Strikes Back

Our Son
As we write this, our son Ben is 7 years old. One of his favorite activities to participate in is Tae Kwon Do. He has also been an avid reader since a young age and reads often – at bedtime he reads stories to mom and dad instead of the other way around! He also enjoys playing with toy food (and helping in the real kitchen from time to time as well). He also loves coloring and writing and doing all things crafty.

Ben’s Favorites
TV Show: Young Sheldon
Game: Skip Bo
Ice Cream Flavor: Chocolate
Movie: Toy Story
Our Home & Community
We built our dream home which we moved into in April, 2018 in a family-friendly neighborhood. We have a bit more than 1 acre of land, so there’s lots of space to run and play. There are also hiking trails throughout the neighborhood with plenty of nature to explore. We are close enough to the city to enjoy all it has to offer while still offering us the country-living feel.
We also love the community we live in! It’s close to all of our family, and there are so many great places to experience so close! Our church community is important to us and we attend masses regularly. We are also fortunate to have a pool and playset in our neighborhood to enjoy. We love to visit the zoo in summer and participate in various programs at the public library and through the local park & rec as well.
Our Families
Rachel’s Family
Rachel’s parents and her sister’s family live nearby, so we get to see them often. We get together to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and have gone on vacations with them. Ben has 3 younger cousins on this side of the family and adores them. In a lot of ways, he is a big brother to them. He is loving, caring and thoughtful in playtime with them. It’s been good preparation for him to be a big brother one day.

Andy’s Family
We are also fortunate to live close to Andy’s parents. They are always there to lend a helping hand, including watching Ben when needed. Andy’s sister and family live a bit further away, but we still celebrate major holidays and birthdays with them. Ben’s cousins on this side of the family are much older than he is, but they get along well and have fun together nonetheless.

Sports
We are big sports fans! We never miss watching a Green Bay Packers football game. We also love watching the Milwaukee Brewers and the Milwaukee Bucks, especially when they’re playing well! We try to attend 1 or 2 games live and in person each season, but mostly just watch on television.
Thank You
Thank you for your time and consideration of us as partners in the adoption journey. While we do not know what the future or circumstances will hold, we are open to maintaining contact with you, including sharing pictures, letters, and possible visits in the future. We look forward to the possibility of meeting you and taking the next step in this journey together. You are amazing and strong and we pray for you without even knowing you.
With warm regards,
