Dereje lives with his parents, one brother and five sisters. His father is a farmer and his mother is a house wife. The family dwells on subsistence farming and is striving to address the children?s basic and educational material needs due to their poor economic status. His parents strongly believe that education creates an opportunity for a better future in their children?s lives. Academically he is active and has good class attendance. He is learning his education at grade four.
