Sakhana lives with her grandparents, an uncle, an aunt, and a younger brother. They have rice land abut the rice product cannot supply the family a whole year. Her parents got divorced when her younger brother was 1 year old. Her mother works as a worker in vegetable farm in another province and she keeps her and her brother to stay with the grandparents. Her uncle is a credit officer, and he can support a little money to the family. Her aunt is a student. Her grandmother stays at home and grows rice. Her grandfather is a construction worker, and earns USD 6 a day, but it is not regular. Yet, this amount of money is not sufficient to fully support everyone in the family. The family lives in a difficult situation, lacking of foods, rice and money to support their children. Therefore, Sakhana needs sponsorship in order to support her education.
She has not had any mental and physical health trouble upon enrollment.
Sakhana was selected through the recommendation from her neighbor and village chief. The family is poor. Because of the family's bad financial situation, the child does not get sufficient nutrition intake. She also lacks in proper education.
