Communication series: Parents and adoptees talk adoption

A free, informational webinar

WHEN: June 26, 2014. 5pm PST

As we continue our series on communicating about adoption, Holt’s post adoption services team presents a panel discussion featuring two sets of parents and adoptees. Hear the same family story told from two different perspectives — the adoptee’s, and the parents’.

This webinar will focus on how adoption was and is discussed in the home, and what each person thought the other wanted.

We will discuss:

  • How much adoption talk is enough?
  • How does race and racism play into the conversations?
  • How to navigate the awkwardness of the adoption discussions.
  • Recommendations for talking about adoption in your family.

Presented by: Steve Kalb, LMSW, Director of Adoptee Services
