This book was written by an adoptive mother who went back to graduate school to get her Masters in Social Work (MSW). She currently works in adoption in Colorado. Her book provides a venue for moms to understand how past hurts that are affecting their relationship with their adopted child. It presents short vignettes at the beginning of each chapter, followed by “daily sessions” aimed at healing and creating mindfulness. Her concepts are Christian-based and encourage a relationship with God as a source of healing and support. This is something to keep in mind when recommending this book to others. This book is a useful tool for individual or group work for moms who are struggling.
