2015 Graduates

In the 2015 “Celebrating Adoption” edition of Holt International Magazine, we celebrate in yearbook-style Holt adoptees who recently graduated from high school or college. We have a couple more updates to share with you here!

Bales, NatalieNatalie Jun Bales, adopted from China, is a 2015 high school graduate from Medford, Oregon. During her high school years, she participated in soccer, basketball and tennis and was an AP scholar and member of the Torch Honor Society. She was once honored as a Sorpotimist Student of the Month. Natalie graduated as valedictorian of her class and received an honors diploma as well as a Medford Rotary scholarship. She plans to study neuroscience at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.



9884emily_gilbertson_graduation_photoEmily Gilbertson, adopted from China, is a salutatorian and member of the 2015 graduating class from Calabasas High School in Calabasas, California. She plans to study piano performance at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.







Karen 1Karen Kelley, adopted from China, is a 2015 high school graduate from Las Vegas, Nevada. In high school, Karen participated in orchestra and was a member of the National Honor Society. She earned the Senior Orchestra award, was a finalist for the Nevada Command Performance and participated in Nevada All-State Orchestra. She also participated in varsity quiz, the Music Teacher’s National Association Competition, and won the Henderson Symphony Orchestra Young Artist’s Competition. She earned an Amigo scholarship and a Department of Music scholarship to attend the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, where she is currently studying violin performance and string pedagogy.
