Upcoming Heritage Tours

When you begin a relationship with Holt, you become a part of the extended Holt family – and that’s a bond that lasts a lifetime. In this spirit, we created Holt heritage tours, giving adoptees (and their loved ones) the opportunity to return to – and reconnect with – their birth country.

India Heritage Tour

July 7-18, 2014

In July 2014, Indian adoptees, adoptive parents and family members have the opportunity to return and reconnect with their birth country — and other Indian adoptees — on Holt’s inaugural India Heritage Tour! Together, you’ll experience Indian culture, visit with two of Holt’s legacy partners, and tour the sights, including the Taj Mahal. Adoptees may be able to review their adoption files and visit their orphanage or birth city. For more information and to sign up, click here.

Holt-Bethany Korea Adult Adoptee Tour

May 21-30, 2014

Korean adoptees and their friends, families and significant others 18 and over are invited to join us on a tour of Korea. This tour is designed for adoptees, and those affected by adoption, to share the commonality of their experience as they return to Korea for a week of sight-seeing, visits to Holt’s programs, experiencing Korean culture, and other activities. China Family Tour

June 21 — July 4, 2014

This trip is tailored to families with children who were adopted from China. Adoptees should be at least 10 years of age. Experience the culture, customs and history of China, as presented by local guides. See everyday life in China, including local homes and cultural activities highlighting both big city and village life. Visit a number of famous Chinese tourist sites such as the Great Wall, the Temple of Heaven, the Forbidden City, the mountains of Guilin, and enjoy the beauty of the diverse Chinese landscape. Learn the inside story of adoption and child welfare in China. For more information, click here.

Volunteer at Winter Jam 2014

Holt’s partnership with NewSong wouldn’t be possible without you! We still need volunteers to help us sign up new sponsors during Winter Jam concert events across the country. When you (or your church group, family or friends) volunteer with Holt, you receive free admission to the concert and a warm, fuzzy feeling in heart for helping vulnerable children gain the life-changing support they need. Sign up to volunteer by clicking here.

Children of Korea: A Sixty Year Retrospective

In November, Holt presented a collection of photos on Capitol Hill, documenting life for many orphaned children following the Korean War, as well as the humble beginnings of Holt International. The photos pay tribute to Harry and Bertha Holt, the thousands of families touched by international adoption, and adoptees themselves. Many of these photos had never been previously shared with the public. To view the collection online, click here.

2014 Graduate Submissions

Do you have a child graduating from high school or college this year? We want to know about his or her accomplishments! Every fall, we like to feature our graduates in the magazine. We will call for submissions in late spring, so watch for our next update.
