Holt Adoptee Camp recently announced a new program for adoptive parents with young Adoptees, and we’re excited to announce it will be called Holt International’s C3 Family Strengthening Retreat. Here’s a little more information about C3 and what you can expect when you attend.
Why C3? Because our time together will be focused on Connection, Community, and Communication. Our retreat will allow you and your family to slow down, take a breath, connect with each other and connect with other adoptive families, all the while building a supportive community of Adoptees and adoptive families.
You and your child will enjoy a retreat program designed to enhance adoption communication skills, and begin building the language to effectively express the nuanced experience that is adoption. This learning will be facilitated by adoption professionals through family activities, parent workshops, and interactive fun and games.
C3 will be held at Macleay Conference and Retreat Center in Salem, OR. At this retreat that sits on 31 acres in the Willamette Valley, C3 families will stay in artisan-crafted condo accommodations that feature a master bedroom, a loft with various bed layouts, a full bath and a kitchenette. Delicious food options will be prepared by the onsite dining staff and enjoyed together as a C3 community.
Along with first-class lodging and dining, C3 families will take advantage of the wonderful recreational facilities Macleay has to offer. Cool off in the swimming pool, kiddie pool or the water play structure. Outdoor playing fields, basketball courts and an amphitheater fire pit will be used for team building, youth activities and family bonding. The indoor gymnasium and recreation center will serve as a cool and dry alternative in case of poor weather.
C3 Family Strengthening Retreat is an amazing opportunity to strengthen family relationships while nurturing healthy Adoptee and adoptive family identity. Prominent individuals from the adoption community will lead workshops and discussions throughout the retreat.
In the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more information about guest speakers and retreat activities.
